badgerports/lucid now open for business

For those of you who like new shiny toys, there are now packages with version 2.6.3 of the Mono Framework available for your local friendly Ubuntu 10.04 system. Visit badgerports.org using your advanced web browser technology for more info.

I know monodevelop-debugger-mdb is busted – it’s temporary (until this evening). Or you can install this package manually as a workaround until then. There’s still no support re-enabled in Monodevelop in Lucid for Mono 2.6’s Soft Debugger – this will happen at a later date, once I decide on how to do it.

  1. Thanks for this. Just curious, are there plans to include Mono 2.6 in maverick, or perhaps even 2.8 with profile4 (assuming it comes out really soon) ?

  2. @sklp, Mono 2.6 definitely. Mono 2.8 doubtful unless it comes out, like, this week.

  4. The page is kinda broken on a netbook. The copyright notices start overlapping the buttons a little.

  5. Oh. I hadn’t thought about those. I’ll try and fix it… I guess “min-height” or somesuch is made for such occasions.

  7. what’s the problem with supporting soft debugger ? can you explain it little bit ?

  8. @Tomasz Kubacki, MD ships with a binary copy of the Soft Debugger lib. We had to strip this – and couldn’t replace it with source due to its intertwining in the Mono 2.6 build system. We now need to upload Monodevelop again, with soft debugger re enabled – and best case, we need to patch the build system to use our source-built copy in the mono 2.6 package, not the assumed binary copy.

  9. Thanks,
This is really good work, I was beginning to think I would be left out in the cold when it came to monodevelop 2.4 which requires mono 2.6. You a life saver.

  11. where can I find an monodevelop installation latest version witout the use of badgerports.

It’s nice for veryone who has an internet connection to load monodevelop with badgerports but a terrible sollution for community persons who has to work witout an ethernet connection.

  12. @Blom, it’s not really a use case I’ve considered. I guess I’d look at using debmirror or apt-proxy to keep a copy of the .deb files you need.
