Have you ever read anything about the MS – TomTom case?

It was not about FAT, it was about VFAT, that is short and long file names on the same time.
And no, it was NOT the first time MS has been using patents aggressivly. And yes, Apple have used patents aggressivly too, but that doesn’t make MS right…

So please use your brain at least once in a while (and Google and whatever MS search engine is named) and do some basic research next time, will you?

(How about that offensive conter-attack on your abusive post about opponents intelligence. And English is not my first language, so you could drop that).

@directhex, which means that RB is mature and don't need that many new (untested/buggy) features. It already have them in it.

But the problem is not with the languages as to it’s libraries.
Like C, it’s a nice small language, but a very smal fraction of all C-programs don’t use the standard C librarie. Same with C#, most programs uses Mono/.NET libraries, and they are partly covered by patents by Microsoft. And we really don’t know if those will not be used against Ubuntu/RedHat etc, except for Novell. And according to some posters, it will not cover new versions of .Net.

And according to me, RB is better than Banseen. Get better arguments.

About Banseem
Pro: Save smal ammount of disk space
Con: Not as stable as RB and uses libraries with a questionable (in many ways) patent threat.

Untill Microsoft binds itself to not use it’s patents on Mono/Monolight etc, I would go for RB, as it has no such problems (imaginativ or not).

@Anders, ACTIVELY ENFORCED patents are a problem. Vague un-enforced patents are common and uninteresting.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/03/07/patent_crackdown_at_cebit/ means “actively enforced”, http://www.microsoft.com/interop/cp/default.mspx means “not actively enforced”
