Very true Jo, hence the problem. Seeing how he is a forum moderator his voice carries a lot of weight. On the one hand I feel that leaving the forums is a good idea, because I don’t like him making personal attacks on me. On the other hand, it annoys me to see him spreading half-truths and false accusations unchallenged. Still as you say, such is life.

Still there is one positive, before his threads, I knew next to nothing about mono (or C#). After researching his claims, I’ve become fascinated by C# and mono and I’ve started to teach myself programming using both. That forum moderator was less then pleased when I thanked him for giving me the opportunity to learn about mono ;). Hopefully once I’ve learnt enough I can be contribute to the community by helping out on an open-source C# project.

Actually upon rereading the thread, he didn’t actually say Microsoft paid off Mark Shuttleworth. He said that commercial C# developers purchased seats on the Ubuntu Advisory Council in order to stay the UTB into making Ubuntu defendant upon mono. He also very strongly hinted that Mark Shuttleworth profited from this. Sorry about this error in my previous comment, I was posting from memory and my memory these days is a bit hazy.
